How to play Solitaire Draw 3

Turn Three Klondike uses the same 52-card deck and seven tableau columns as Draw 1. The difference is access to the stock: each turn moves up to three cards onto the waste. This page starts a Draw 3 deal immediately, or restores your unfinished deal from this page. Hints, undo and both automatic and choose-destination controls are available.

  1. Build the four foundations by suit, starting with an Ace and finishing with a King. On the tableau, build downward in alternating colors: a red 7 can go onto a black 8, but not onto a red 8.
  2. Tap the stock to turn up to three cards. Only the top waste card can move. If you play it, the card immediately beneath becomes available; the other visible cards are not selectable shortcuts.
  3. For example, suppose the newly drawn waste cards are 5♣, 6♥, 7♠, with 7♠ on top. If a red 8 is available, moving the 7♠ there exposes the 6♥. That 6♥ can then go onto the black 7 you just moved, exposing the 5♣. Without the initial legal move, you cannot reach through to the 5♣.
  4. An empty tableau column accepts a King or a valid sequence beginning with one. Prioritize uncovering face-down cards, and check whether a King can use the space before emptying a column.
  5. When the stock is empty, tap it to recycle the remaining waste. This game allows unlimited passes. It preserves the remaining card order rather than reshuffling; removing waste cards can change which cards are exposed on the next pass.
  6. Use Undo to inspect another line of play. Choose-destination mode lets you select a source and then a legal pile, including moving a foundation card back to the tableau. Auto-complete becomes available once stock and waste are empty and all tableau cards are face up.

A tip for your next game

Before turning the stock again, inspect the current waste card and any moves that expose hidden tableau cards. Turning too quickly can bury a useful card. A hint is a legal suggestion, not a promise that the deal can be won. Random deals are not advertised as guaranteed winners.

Common questions

Is Draw 3 the same as Turn 3 or three-card Solitaire?

Yes, those names describe turning up to three stock cards at a time in Klondike. House rules can differ: this version has unlimited stock passes and undo, with no time limit. The timer measures your play; it does not end the game.

Where is my Draw 1 game?

Use the link above the board to return to the main Solitaire page. This direct Draw 3 entry saves separately, so it does not replace that page’s unfinished deal. Both can appear under Continue on the homepage. Saves belong to this browser and are removed if you clear site data.

Can I switch to Draw 1?

Yes. Open the main Solitaire page and choose Draw 1. A new deal here remains Draw 3, so this entry always matches its label. Restart asks before replacing the current Draw 3 deal.
